The Science Academy STEM Magnet is excited to host the Annual Supernova Spectacular High School Tournament - Override™ VEX V5 Robotics Competition™. This is a High School-only event taking place on Sunday, November 8, 2026. The Middle School only tournament will take place on Saturday, November 7, 2026.
The event will be open to 36 high school teams. Winning specific awards at this event may qualify teams to attend the California State Championship. This event will be limited to six teams per organization. Once the event is full, a waiting list will be created for teams who were unable to register. This waiting list will also be available for you to sign up additional teams, but precedence will be given to schools/organizations that are not yet registered.
The tournament will start promptly, and we will attempt to maintain our scheduled target times throughout the event. Participants who are not in the building by the time driver’s meeting run the risk of being pulled from the tournament and will not receive a refund.
Skills: During the event, a robotics skills field will be available for students to post scores towards the World rankings. Each team can participate in up to three driver runs and three autonomous runs. Skills will only be available during the qualification matches. Teams are not allowed to wait in the skills line unless they have a robot.
Judging: This event will feature a full range of awards, so please be prepared to participate in in-person judging interviews during the competition. Notebooks will be judged remotely and teams must submit their notebook via events.vex.com by Oct. 28th at 5:00pm.
Concessions: Concessions will be available for competitors and audience members to enjoy. We appreciate all purchases from concessions, as profits will go directly to funding our club's season.
Refund: Refunds for this event are available if requested before the event closes on the VEX Events website, events.vex.com (Oct. 26th). If you need to request a refund, please contact us directly for assistance.
Participation and Consent Form: A completed form for all participants must be uploaded on events.vex.com prior to check-in.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email the Event Partner, Yuki Mori at [email protected]
