WA | VEX IQ Robotics Competition™ (Blended): SCBC VEXcellence Tournament

General Info

South Coast Baptist College invites VEX IQ teams to participate in the SCBC VEXcellence Tournament.

The event will provide students with an exciting opportunity to demonstrate their robotics skills, innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork while competing and learning alongside other talented peers.

Please take note of the following important information.

Event Location

• The competition will be held in the Multi-Purpose Gym located on Oakwood Crescent, on the Senior School side of the campus.
• Participants should use the Oakwood Crescent entrance to access the competition venue.
• Visitor parking is available onsite, next to the MPG.

Arrival, Check-in and Robot Inspection

• Teams should arrive by 9:30 am to allow sufficient time for check-in, set-up and robot inspection.
• Before arriving, teams should review the official VEX V5 Robotics Competition Robot Inspection Checklist and ensure their robot complies with all current competition requirements.

Competition Times

• The competition will promptly commence after the welcome and driver's meeting and should conclude at approximately 4:00 pm.
• Please note that the schedule may be adjusted depending on the final number of teams registered.
• Any changes will be communicated to participating schools before the event.

Food and Drink

• Teams are encouraged to bring their own food, snacks and drinks for the day.
• Bubblers are available, but students should also bring a clearly labelled water bottle.
• The Waikiki Village Shopping Centre is located approximately one kilometre from the competition venue and offers cafés, takeaway food, and supermarkets where participants can purchase meals, snacks and drinks.
• Participants intending to leave the College grounds should ensure their students remain appropriately supervised to ensure duty of care at all times.

Further Assistance

• Staff and volunteers will be available throughout the day to provide guidance and assistance, ensuring an enjoyable and well-organised competition experience for all.
