Welcome to an exciting and fast-paced event. This year's competition, Override, is a challenging, exhilarating, and strategy based game. Teams should expect be be prepared for competitive action as soon as they check-in. Below are a few thoughts on how to be best prepared for success at Bots & Bolts tournaments.
For all rules, please consult the VEX Robotics website. Teams will be expected to know and apply all rules, to include but not limited to, team organization and management, engineering notebooks, and robot builds compliance.
Recommended Actions
A). Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist prior to the competition. Make sure to check the official VEX forums for rules updates and changes.
B). Review the information contained in the tournament posting on events.vex.com
C). Prepare your robot, spare parts, safety items (e.g., safety glasses, engineering notebook, gloves, spare parts, tools, cables, batteries, chargers, laptops, swag)
D). Review the descriptions and criteria for awards.
E). Prep for your interviews with the judges.
F). SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks. Wear all appropriate safety gear when working with tools and robot parts.
G. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware.
LATE Arrivals
Teams must be checked in 45 minutes prior to the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedule may be printed. Teams must contact the event partner if they are running late or they will be removed from the team list for the event.
Team Payment
Teams must be paid two weeks prior to the event. Teams not paid at this time may be dropped at the Event Partner's discretion to allow teams in from the wait list.

Judging Format
Judging Format Judging will be done in a multi-stage approach. Engineering Notebooks are required to be turned in digitally (via link in VEX Events team profile) by the Monday prior to the event. They will be reviewed and graded prior to the event date. Please ensure the notebook is viewable by our staff by setting the permissions correctly prior to the turn in date. The Team Interviews will be conducted in-person the day of the event. Teams should anticipate scheduling time to speak to the judges at the judge’s table during the event. Interviews will be done on a first come first serve basis at the judging table. --Engineering Notebook Submissions: Digital notebooks only (due by 9 November 2026) --In Person Team Interviews: First come, First serve at the judge’s table

Volunteer The robotics community has been fantastic to our program and we greatly appreciate the help provided. If you are interested in supporting us for the execution of the event please let me know. Prior to the event, please provide contact information for volunteers to the below email. We may need assistance with field set up, resetting fields, scoring, pit management, or tear down. Emergency/Bad-Weather Policy
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy In the event of projected bad weather, the Host/EP will use all available data to make a health and safety decision 24hrs prior to event execution via contact information provided during registration. In the event of unanticipated bad weather or emergencies, we will notify all participants via contact information provided at registration as soon as possible. The location of the event cannot be rescheduled to an alternate date. Teams should make sure their contact information in events.vex.com is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.
