Competition Preparation

  • Only one coach is allowed in the pit area and must be identified by a wristband which will be handed out at registration.
  • Students must have consent form on file.
  • Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments.
  • All team members must be checked in before completing robot inspection.
  • Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes.
  • Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on events.vex.com
  • Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
    • Robot
    • Spare parts & tool
    • Batteries and chargers
    • Programming cable
    • Power strip
    • Laptop computer
    • Engineering notebook : Deadline to upload digital copy of engineering notebook is the Wednesday Nov 4th before the event at 5:00 PM
    • Banners and other decorations for your team pit
    • Giveaways if you have them
  • Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament.
  • Prep for your interviews with the judges.
  • Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby as the venue is a very tight fit. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks.
  • No outside fields will be allowed

Judging Format

Judging Format • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges. • Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. Deadline to upload engineering notebook is Wednesday Nov 4th before the event at 5:00pm

Emergency/Bad-Weather Policy

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy In the event of inclement weather, we will decide at least 24 hours prior to the event wether to reschedule or cancel the event. If timelines permit, every effort will be made to reschedule the event. Please see below the following policies: If the event is canceled due to inclement weather, a full refund may be offered. If the event is rescheduled due to inclement weather, team registration will be credited to the rescheduled date. If a team cannot attend the rescheduled date, no refunds will be given. If the event is in progress and must stop due to emergency, no refunds will be given. Specific refund details will be communicated by the Event Partner.
